CommuteOrlando

CommuteOrlando was created to offer a supportive community for Orlando Metro utility cyclists. We have grown to cover all topics relating to alternative transportation, advocacy, education, safety and livability.

CommuteOrlando volunteers partner with Bike/Walk Central Florida to create and lead social activities such as First Friday Civility Rides, Ice Cream and Cargo-bike rides and Geocaching Ride/Walk scavenger hunts.

Central Florida Bike Bus

Central Florida Bike Bus brings together cyclists who want to commute by bike using the same roads as every other vehicle. By riding as a group on a regular schedule and following all traffic laws, we’ll improve our visibility and show that cyclists and motor vehicles can coexist in a positive and productive way. The UCF Bike Bus currently runs from Cady Way trail head at Fashion Square to UCF in the mornings and back in the afternoons. The bus can be tracked online. Visit the bike bus website for more information.

Get Active Orlando

Developed in the fall of 2003, Get Active Orlando, brings together a multi-disciplinary team representing public health agencies, hospitals, bicycle clubs and shops, neighborhood associations, community organizations, a university, and City government to build a community focused on active living.

Get Active Orlando creates and promotes environments that make it safe and convenient for people to be more physically active.  We work to bring about and sustain changes in design, transportation, and policies to cultivate and support a way of live that integrates physical activity into daily lives.

Metroplan Orlando

MetroPlan Orlando is the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties – the Orlando Urban Area.  As a regional MPO, MetroPlan Orlando provides the forum for local elected officials, their staff, citizens, and industry experts to work together to improve transportation in Central Florida.

A key responsibility under federal law is the development of a long range transportation plan for the region.
