Five fun ways to celebrate March as Florida Bike Month

Did you know that March is Florida Bike Month?

Not to be confused with National Bike Month in May, Floridians can celebrate our favorite commuting and leisure activity for two months this year.

Watch our social media throughout the month of March for regular updates on safety tips, fun facts and upcoming community events.

Get your wheels turning for Florida Bike Month

Hint-hint: We want to see how you’re enjoying Florida Bike Month, so take tons of photos and share with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtags #iBikeWalkCFL and #FLBikeMonth. P.S: Like and follow us on social media, if you haven’t already. Kudos to whoever can tackle all five!

5. Be a bike shop groupie.

Visit your local bike shop (there are many awesome ones to choose from). Take a #bikeshopselfie with the bike shop crew.

4. Be a multimodal maniac.

Ride a Juice Bike one-way (or your own bike) to your favorite hang-out spot and catch the SunRail train or the LYNX bus back.

3. Be a trailblazer.

Record your favorite bike trail ride on the Strava app.

2. Be a bike buddy.

Bike to school or work or wherever with a friend. Take a #bikebuddyselfie and share on social media. Extra points if you add a caption with more deets about how the trip went.

Some bike buddy events are already in the works this month. The City of Winter Park and Healthy Central Florida are celebrating Bike to Work Day on Wed, March 8. And, for a little motivation, Healthy Central Florida’s Move60 Challenge starts on March 1, so don’t forget to register.

1. Be a BWCF superstar.

Snap and share your favorite #bikeselfie.

Don’t forget to tag #iBikeWalkCFL and #FLBikeMonth on your posts.

There are so many other amazing bike things to do in Central Florida this month and year-around like…

And much, much more! Did we leave anything out that you think is a must-mention? Leave a comment and let us know.
