Celebrating Bike & Pedestrian Policy, Infrastructure, and Advocacy in Central Florida
Orlando, Fla. – Bike/Walk Central Florida (BWCF), in partnership with the Florida Bicycle Association (FBA), is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 3rd Annual Wheel of Achievement Awards. These awards recognize individuals, organizations, projects, and policymakers who are advancing safer and more connected biking, walking, and rolling across the state of Florida.
Previously focused on Central Florida, the awards now honor efforts statewide, reflecting the growing momentum behind active transportation.
“This is about celebrating the stories—big and small—that inspire change and build momentum for safer streets,” said Patrick Panza, BWCF Operations Director. “We’re going beyond Central Florida and inviting everyone across Florida to nominate the people and projects making a difference in their communities.”
Award Categories
Nominations are open in the following six categories:
- Innovative Bike/Ped Plan or Design
- Innovative Bike/Ped Infrastructure – Small Scale
- Innovative Bike/Ped Infrastructure – Large Scale
- Outstanding Public Policy Advocate
- Outstanding Community Leadership for People Who Walk
- Outstanding Community Leadership for People Who Bike
“The Wheel of Achievement shines a light on champions who are making Florida’s streets and trails safer and more welcoming for everyone,” said Kelly Brock, Bike/Walk Central Florida Board Chair. “From grassroots advocates to policymakers to innovative infrastructure projects, these awards celebrate the progress happening across our state.”
How to Nominate

- Deadline: Monday, October 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EST
- Nominations are open to the public, including self-nominations
Submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of members of the BWCF Active Transportation Committee and the Florida Bicycle Association Board of Directors.
Award Presentation
Winners will be recognized during a special program at the Florida Bicycle Summit, co-hosted by BWCF and FBA:
