A Governor’s veto is not stopping the momentum to closing the gaps on the Coast-to-Coast Connector, linking Canaveral National Seashore to St. Petersburg. The Central Florida MPO Alliance (CFMPOA) and the West Central Florida MPO Chairs Coordinating Committee (CCC) are meeting in July to discuss, share and coordinate regional priorities, work schedules, and funding as they seek ways to safely connect the trails so bikers, hikers, walkers, strollers and roller bladders here locally and all around the world can experience some or all of the 275 mile multi-use trail.
Bike/Walk Central Florida will be attending the meeting as the grassroots advocates for closing the gaps. We will share the info on Facebook and the next newsletter as to outcomes and what we can do as a group to make sure our voices are heard. One thing to note is Bike/Walk Central Florida is thrilled with the level of commitment and progress to date from all the MPOs and TPOs, encompassing 17 counties, working together to try and make the Coast-to-Coast connector a reality.
