Bike Helmet Resource Page
Under Florida law, a bicycle rider or passenger who is under 16 years of age must wear a bicycle helmet properly fitted, fastened securely upon the passenger’s head by a strap and that meets the federal safety standard for bicycle helmets, as defined by the Code of Federal Regulations (16 C.F.R. Part 1203).
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting Mobility Week, the week of October 28-November 3, 2017. Orange County Government and LakeXpress in Lake County will be offering Bike Helmet training classes. If you are interested, we strongly encourage you to reach out to them directly and sign up because spaces are limited. The link, email or phone reaches the FDOT team responsible for organizing these events.
