Among the close to 400 riders out on the streets for Bike 5 Cities was NASCAR driver and FDOT Alert Today Florida Bike Safety Advocate Scott Lagasse. He was the first to stop his bike and personally assist riders with flat tires proving just how committed he is to helping cyclists.
“Too many uncomfortable run-ins” while on his bike led Scott to his bicyclist advocacy role with FDOT Alert Today Florida.
Riders of all ages and experience levels came out on May 5 for a 28-mile ride. One couple came from Jacksonville to celebrate their anniversary and learn more about new bike trails. We even had our youngest rider at just age 7, complete the full 28 miles with his parents.
Thank you to everyone who participated and we hope to see you next year!
