Bike/Walk Central Florida Board Member, Lisa Portelli, recently embarked on the “trip of a lifetime.” On July 8th, Lisa hopped on her bike and left Everette, Washington to start the 3,568-mile journey across the states. Her experience so far? “A dream come true.”
Lisa’s tour guides are focused on following the prettiest route, not the easiest or most efficient. This means hard work, rewarded by breath-taking views of nature. In her Facebook posts, Lisa describes “jaw-dropping vistas” in Washington State and “never-ending mountains” in Montana. Through rain, shine and 90-degree heat, the team has almost made it through 31 days intense riding. To some, that may sound exhausting, but if Lisa’s Facebook posts are a true indication of her experience, it seems well worth it.
The night before her trip, Lisa dedicated her ride to BWCF and encouraged donations to support the push to create safer roads for people biking and walking in Central Florida. Thank you, Lisa, for always being a champion for our mission.
Check back on our Facebook page to keep up with Lisa’s progress. Don’t forget to drop her a comment and cheer her on. Keep riding, Lisa!
