Bike 5 Cities 2020 Slow Roll Bike ride Header

Bike/Walk Central Florida is hosting its signature 28-mile ride event, the 4th Annual Bike 5 Cities slow-pace, social distancing ride on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in partnership with the cities of Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, Casselberry, and the town of Eatonville.

As of 9/25/20, the rider registration is full. We hope to hold the Bike 5 Cities ride event again in May 2021. If you’re interested in being put on the Bike 5 Cities mailing list, please email Emily Hanna at [email protected]

WHAT IS BIKE 5 CITIES RIDE

Bike 5 Cities is a welcoming, inclusive, 28-mile slow-pace, social distancing bike ride to show people of all ages and biking abilities where they can feel most comfortable riding a bike through the neighborhoods in Winter Park, Eatonville, Maitland, Casselberry and Orlando.

This year, we’ve added COVID-19 safety guidelines to minimize gatherings, such as setting a registration limit, spreading out the starting locations, staggering the start times, offering guided, small group rides for no more than five riders per group, and restricting the self-guided ride spots. More about the COVID-19 Guidelines.

WHERE DOES THE RIDE START?

For the Guided, Small Group Ride, you choose from one of the five host city locations. For the Self-Guided Ride, you have a choice of two cities to start the ride: Winter Park and Casselberry. There are limited spots at all five cities. We encourage you to register online early before all the spots fill up.

Mead Garden in Winter Park
Community Park in Maitland
Druid Park in Orlando

Town Hall in Eatonville
Wirz Park in Casselberry

Grab four friends, family members or join four others and sign-up for the Guided, Small Group Ride where an experienced ride leader personally guides the group along the Bike 5 Cities route and helps the group maintain proper social distancing at rest stops, red lights, stop signs, etc. Each small group decides upon a comfortable, slow pace for the ride.

  • No more than five people per small group, plus an experienced ride leader guide.
  • To socially distance, staggered start times starting at 8 a.m., scheduled in 15 minute increments.
  • Choose from five designated start locations: Winter Park, Eatonville, Maitland, Casselberry and Orlando when registering.
  • Must have a face covering at the start, all stops, crowded locations, and where it’s not possible to maintain a minimum 6-feet distancing. See COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Snacks and bottled water provided at each of the five city stops. Please bring a water bottle to hydrate between stops.

All the benefits and support of the guided, small group ride, but without a ride leader. This option is for those who want to avoid riding in any size group, prefer a faster pace or just want start, stop and rest time flexibility. Self-guided ride is limited to 25 riders.

  • To socially distance, staggered start times from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m.
  • Choose from two start locations: Winter Park or Casselberry.
  • Route marked with wayfinding signs for the 28-miles.
  • Route map accessible via Ride with GPS app or a cue sheet available at start location.
