September’s Miracle Miles 5K and 15K to benefit Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies were canceled months ago in favor of the new, 1-mile Walk for Winnie at SeaWorld Orlando on Sept. 12. So what’s a runner to do who wants to compete in a longer (10K-plus) race to get primed for the OUC Orlando Half Marathon on Dec. 5?

Volition America Half Marathon and 5K, 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, Orlando Festival Park, 2911 E. Robinson St. $75 for half marathon through Sept. 12, then $85.
Let’s Move Day 5K, 10K and Fun Run, 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, Apopka Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 340 E. Votaw Road. 5K is $25 till Aug. 31, then higher. 10K is $35 till Aug. 31, then higher.
NTC Lace It Up Series: Gridiron Gameday 10K, 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, National Training Center, 1935 Don Wickham Drive, Clermont. $40.
Wild Shrimp Shuffle 5K and 10K, 7:45 a.m. for 5K, 8:15 a.m. for 10K, Saturday, Oct. 10, Chain of Lakes Park, 2300 Truman Scarborough Way, Titusville. $23 till Sept. 26, then $28.
FL.ROC Trails: 13.1 @ Little Econ, trail half marathon and 5-mile races, 7:30 a.m. for half marathon, 8 a.m. for 5-miler, Saturday, Oct. 17, Geneva. $25 for 5-mile, $45 for half marathon till Aug. 31, then higher.
Lake Nona 13.1, half marathon, 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, start point to be determined. $70.
Monster 10K Beach Run/Walk, avoid zombies, 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 201 Buenos Aires St., New Smyrna Beach. $30.
