BWCF, Partners Work to Keep Kids Safe on Their Way to School

BWCF team fitting helmets at John H Bridges Community Center Back to School fair

Many parents are counting down the days until their kids go back to school, but Florida State Troopers are counting just how many more bicycles will be on the road starting August 12.

Bike/Walk Central Florida is part of the Orange County and Osceola County Community Traffic Safety Teams. Together, we want to reach out to parents to stress the importance of making sure their children wear helmets when they ride their bikes. A properly fitted bike helmet should be as much a priority as any school supplies. BWCF continues to work with local leaders, Commissioners and organizations to promote bike, helmet and pedestrian safety ahead of the start of school. Below is a press release with statistical data showing how bike helmets can save lives and prevent serious injury.
