Biking to Orange Cycle or David’s World Cycle this week? Well, now you can tie your bike up to a piece of art that also serves as a bike rack. The College Park Partnership spearheaded the initiative and sought funding through one of Mayor Buddy Dyer’s matching grants to fund projects that improve local neighborhoods. They invited local business owner, Jim Lakey, who is a metal artist, to create a home for bikes that evoked engagement, provided function, while decorating the street with distinctiveness. Let’s hope College Park started a trend and art inspired bike racks turn up all over Orange County.
