It’s here: March is Florida Bike Month.
Maybe you’re a weekend warrior. Maybe you ride your bike to get to work. Maybe you never made it past training wheels. Whatever your relationship with bicycling, Florida Bike Month is a time when we all come together to celebrate the power of moving on two wheels. During the month of March, get excited about biking by trying out new trails, attending bike events in your community or encouraging friends and family to pedal along with you.
Need some inspiration? Bike/Walk Central Florida (BWCF) is here to help – there are dozens of great places to ride in Central Florida. Here are some bike-friendly places and resources available in Central Florida:
Bike Trails
Central Florida is home to more than 250 miles across 30 unique bike trails – no matter your experience level, location or occasion, there’s a trail for you! Check out these resources from Bike Orlando and the Florida Bicycle Association for trail maps and descriptions.
Bike Education
We aren’t the only Central Florida organization that can help you learn about bicycling and bike safety! BWCF, the Florida Bicycle Association, the League of American Bicyclists and many others offer info on everything from properly fitting your helmet to how to safely cycle on the sidewalk.
Bike Routes
You might know the trails, but sometimes it can be difficult to connect point A to point B. Dozens of routes (including our favorite, the Bike 5 Cities route) can be found online to help you get where you’re going comfortably. Or, try creating your own this month and share it with us
Bike Events
If you’re looking to get more involved in your community this #FLBikeMonth, there’s tons of great events happening all around Central Florida. FBA has a whole page dedicated to bike month events to help you stay in the loop. Or, follow BWCF on Twitter and Facebook for up to date info on bike events we’ll be attending!
And there are so many more ways to get involved with cycling no matter where you live. Take advantage of the cooler, sunny weather this month to try out these tips!
