We are thrilled to introduce Scott Toschlog as the latest addition to our committed Board of Directors. As a principal and partner at Dix Hite + Partners, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and over two decades of hands-on experience in landscape architecture to our organization.
Scott’s journey to landscape architecture is a testament to his dedication to designing spaces that enhance the quality of life. His philosophy is simple yet impactful — he strives to create “great places for people to live, work, and play.” He is committed to the vision of transforming communities into walkable, vibrant places where safety, beauty, and connectivity are intertwined.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Scott is an enthusiast for the great outdoors. He treasures the moments spent running along the Seminole Wekiva Trail or road biking throughout Florida’s scenic landscapes. It is this passion that fuels his advocacy for safer roads and the creation of walkable communities.
Scott’s mission resonates deeply with his personal experiences. Surviving a bike accident in 2017, which put him off the saddle for over six months, he has become a fervent advocate for road safety. This alarming incident only intensified his determination to protect others from facing similar dangers on the road. His roots go back to the Midwest, where he nurtured his affinity for nature on Indiana’s dairy farms, finding liberty and solace in long bike rides to his grandparents’ home. The sense of freedom and ease Scott found on those country roads is something he wishes to make accessible to everyone, irrespective of where they live.
At Bike/Walk Central Florida, we believe Scott’s expertise and passion will be instrumental in our endeavors to promote pedestrian and bicycle safety, mobility, and access throughout Central Florida. His story is one of resilience, dedication, and a profound appreciation for the natural world and community spaces.
Please join us in welcoming Scott to the Bike/Walk Central Florida family. We look forward to his contributions and to furthering our mission together, making Central Florida a place where biking and walking are not just possible, but a way of life.
