Jump on Your Bike, and Help Kids’ Cancer Research

What’s better than jumping on your bicycle? Jumping on your bike for a good cause!

If you’re looking for a reason to keep riding now that #NationalBikeMonth is over, look no further than the Children’s Cancer Research Fund’s Great Cycle Challenge.

Throughout the month of June, the organization is hosting a challenge for cyclists to help battle kids’ cancer. The challenge, explained in more detail on the Children’s Cancer Research Fund website, pushes cyclists to log their miles throughout the month while spreading the word about children’s cancer – and it’s all pressure free. Riders of all fitness levels can join, there’s no minimum mileage and no expectation to ride every day. Set a goal that’s right for you.

Whether your target is to ride 10 miles or 1,000 miles, the challenge will help you achieve personal fitness goals, have fun and raise awareness about children’s cancer prevention.

How can you get involved?

Register here. It’s free!

Then, set your target of miles to ride throughout the month.

Spread the word! Let your friends and family know you’ve joined the challenge and ask for their support. They can donate through your challenge page and fundraise for childhood cancer research.

Start riding. We’d love to see all the places you go this month! Whether you’re reaching your goal by riding your usual commute or exploring new trails, use #GreatCycleChallenge and #iBikeWalkCFL to let us know on social media!

Record your miles. You can use the Great Cycle Challenge app, Strava, MapMyRide or any GPS device you prefer. Or, manually add your miles into your dashboard from a standard odometer.

Track your progress. Your challenge page will give you details about all of your rides, your total miles and your progress toward your target. But remember, don’t get discouraged if you don’t hit your goal. Every mile counts!

This month, get out on Orlando’s great network of bike trails this month to show your support for safe cycling and childhood cancer research. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish!
