More good news for multi-use trail users in Seminole County. The Orlando Sentinel reported in a front-page article on the work to fill the nearly mile-long gap on the Cross Seminole Trail in Winter Springs. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2021.
Additionally, the City of Sanford continues work to extend its popular Riverwalk Trail another 2.4 miles westward from Central Florida Regional Hospital, past the Central Florida Zoo to the existing Lake Monroe Loop near Interstate 4 in Sanford.
The Riverwalk Trail will fill in one of the final gaps of the Lake Monroe Loop, a 26-mile pathway around the lake. Bicyclists, runners and walkers will gain uninterrupted access to Volusia County’s trail network and a link to the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail, a 250-mile pathway stretching between St. Petersburg and Titusville.
