Bike/Walk Central Florida is pleased to announce the newest additions to our Board of Directors – Ed Alexander and Martin Derrow. Both individuals bring a wealth of experience, passion, and commitment to our organization’s ongoing efforts to make Central Florida safer and more enjoyable for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Ed Alexander, a seasoned business attorney with over 30 years of expertise in corporate transactional law, is an enthusiastic advocate for enhancing bicycling infrastructure and safety. He’s an avid biker who is keen to channel his vast legal knowledge into furthering the interests of community biking organizations across the Orlando Metropolitan Statistical Area and beyond. Ed’s dedication extends beyond the road and into nature, where he and his family enjoy kayaking, sailing, and hiking. His active lifestyle and professional experience, particularly in advising on board procedures and business development, make him an excellent addition to our team.
Alongside Ed, we welcome Martin “Marty” Derrow, a fervent cyclist and healthcare professional whose daily riding experiences in Winter Park and along various local trails have given him a personal stake in the mission to promote safer cycling and pedestrian pathways. Martin’s firsthand encounters, including overcoming an injury from an incident involving a vehicle, inform his advocacy for safer, more sustainable transportation options. His vision as a physician, combined with his personal commitment as a father and grandfather, deeply aligns with Bike/Walk Central Florida’s goals.
The inclusion of Ed and Marty on the Board reflects our organization’s dedication to diversity of perspective and experience. We believe their contributions will greatly assist in guiding our strategic decisions, influencing policy, and enhancing our advocacy work. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Ed and Martin.
