What’s better than a shiny new bike on Christmas morning?
Orlando Police Department, Academy Sport & Outdoors and BWCF came together last week to give an early Christmas gift to Central Florida kids. 100 students received brand new bicycles and helmets as part of Academy Sports and Orlando Police Department’s holiday bicycle giveaway program.
The bikes, donated by Academy Sports & Outdoors, were given to the select students from 33 Orange County schools at the OPD Headquarters on Saturday. The kids checked in, were escorted to their new bike by an OPD officer – and that’s there BWCF stepped in. Each student was properly fitted for a brand new helmet to accompany their bike.
In true holiday spirit, BWCF and our great community partners brightened the faces of kids from all around Orange County. Our hearts were so warmed by the commitment of our partners to providing for the community and the excitement of the kids to be receiving new bikes. Getting more children and adults safely out on bikes is always a priority to us.
A huge thank you to OPD and Academy Sports & Outdoors for your generosity! Check out some of the photo highlights from the event below.
