Bike/Walk Central Florida’s 6th annual BIKE 5 event was a resounding success, bringing together over 300 cycling enthusiasts from all walks of life to trek around Central Florida. The 2022 Bike 5 Cities signature route grew to a 30-mile ride thanks to the addition of two more miles in Seminole County and Casselberry. The event also introduced two new rides, the family-friendly Bike 5 Miles and Bike 5 Parks, truly encouraging everyone of all ages and abilities to ride, including those considering a 30-mile ride outside their comfort level. Both were guided rides through Ward Park in Winter Park, along the Cady Way Trail, and around Baldwin Park. The 11-mile Bike 5 Parks route extended further into the City of Orlando, popping into several parks, including Ward Park, Lake Baldwin Park, Harbor Park, Cady Way Trail Park, and Lake Druid Park.
BIKE 5 would not have been possible without our esteemed sponsors’ generous support and commitment to making Central Florida safer for biking and walking. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each sponsor for their financial or in-kind contribution, which was vital in making the BIKE 5 events an unforgettable experience for all.

As we prepare for the next BIKE 5, we want to give special thanks to those that contribute to the success of Bike 5 Cities year after year. Bike 5 Cities started as an advocacy tool to not only show residents and visitors of Central Florida safe routes to travel between cities, but to highlight the importance of safe cycling infrastructure and improve conditions where gaps may occur. Since the event’s inception in 2017, permanent signage has been installed highlighting the Bike 5 Cities route through Seminole County and the City of Casselberry. Support of Bike 5 Cities enables both the annual event and provides the funding to enable the tireless advocates of Bike/Walk Central Florida to make communities better to walk, bike and roll.
As we reflect on our past triumphs, we are excited to announce that this year’s BIKE 5 events are just around the corner, taking place on October 14 and promising another exhilarating journey for all — regardless of prior cycling experience. We hope you join us then!
