Pedestrian Safety at Night – Mobility Week Webinar

Bike/Walk Central Florida, xGeographic and LUX Solar present trends and innovative lighting solutions during Mobility Week webinar, Friday, Nov. 6.

As the season changes and the days grow shorter, we’re reminded that fall is one of the most dangerous times of the year for people to cross streets and roads due to dark conditions. In fact, 76% of pedestrian fatalities occur in dark conditions.

As part of Mobility Week, Bike/Walk Central Florida is partnering with founders of xGeographic and LUX Solar to present a one-hour Zoom webinar on “Pedestrian Safety at Night.” The webinar on Friday, November 6, at noon, will dive into data trends showing why certain areas are more prone to pedestrian fatalities, review overall trends in Florida, and analyze land use trends and roadway characteristics. It will also highlight lighting solutions that enhance bike and pedestrian infrastructure, lighting the way for people walking or riding bicycles at night. To register, rsvp to [email protected].
