Do you know your street’s safety score? Find out at Rethinking the City

FullSizeRender 4

Do you know your street’s safety score? You know the street or streets you live/work/play on? They may not event have a safety score.

But a new “Route Condition Tool” from the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council promises to change that. The tool scores roads on safety by analyzing a bunch of critical pieces of information (more than 30 data layers in all – ranging from sidewalks to speed limits to school zones, bike lanes, transit routes and crash frequencies).

The Bungalower reports that the local, urbanist meet up group Rethinking the City  will  feature this awesome-sounding tool in a presentation by PJ Smith tonight.  Smith is a Senior GIS Analyst and Urban Designer for the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council.

The presentation will take place tonight (Tuesday, May 31, 2016) at 6:25 p.m. at Juice Bikes Headquarters (515 W Central Blvd, Orlando, FL 32801).
