CNU recognizes BWCF Chair & FDOT District 1 Secretary Billy Hattaway

billy-hattawayThe CNU Florida Summit had Bike/Walk Central Florida written all over it. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect was watching the BWCF Board Chair and FDOT District 1 Secretary Billy Hattaway receive the John Nolen award, recognizing his outstanding body of work and achievements in transforming the public sector of transportation in Florida. Congratulations.

Let’s not forget that BWCF Board members Eliza Harris and Rick Geller for organizing the summit from behind the scenes; Billy Hattaway was interviewed by esteemed-urbanist Victor Dover; BWCF Board member Lisa Portelli, who joined the presentation on Winter Park; and Geller, who introduced the keynote speaker Andres Duany. Even BWCF Executive Director, Amanda Day, got in on the action – dominating a pecha kucha style presentation about normalizing walking and biking in Orlando.

Thanks to our BWCF Board members who continue to advocate for better design leading to safer road conditions for all users. Thanks for hosting a fabulous summit Congress for New Urbanism. You most certainly have the BWCF stamp of approval!
