Join a bicycle ride Sunday to benefit a critically injured cyclist

Chris Liddy’s community knows him as “that guy.” The one who welcomes everyone with his smile, his energy and his jokes. In July, Chris was critically injured when the semitrailer he was driving crashed into another truck. Remaining in the hospital since July 23, his hospital bills have skyrocketed.

Chris loves cycling and making the miles fly by for those who join him. That is why Paul Ricci of Cycling Across America is organizing Pulling for Chris, a 76-mile ride on Sunday. The route follows a popular training ride Chris often did. The ride starts at David’s World Cycle on Edgewater Drive, heads north to Sanford, looping through Chuluota and back to the shop.

The ride is free to register but riders are asked to donate something to help in Chris’ recovery. For those unable to get out this Sunday, you can also donate on the ride’s registration page.
