South Lake County Earned ‘Bicycle Friendly Community’ Designation – includes Clermont …

BicycleFriendlyOK. It’s a no brainer.  For those who love to bike or to be outdoors, Lake County is the answer with its picturesque hills and beautiful parks like Lake Louisa State park. That’s why South Lake Chamber of Commerce’s Sports & Tourism Committee led the effort to become as bike friendly as possible.  Their hard work paid off when the League of American Bicyclists awarded South Lake County — supported by Clermont, Goveland, and Mascottee – the bronze ‘Bicycle Friendly Community’ designation this fall. 

They are the ONLY Florida community, among the 55 newest entries, to earn this national recognition.  According to Darren Gray, Clermont’s city manager, “The recognition fits perfectly with our vision of a city that is a choice of champions – not only for athletes but for people seeking a high quality of life.”  No wonder Clermont has branded itself as the “Choice of Champions.” Read the full article HERE.
