Southwest Florida symposium talks about why our future depends on walkable communities

winter-park-page-downtown-shops-headerThe News-Press recently shared an article that hit the nail right on the head – Our future depends on walkable communities. They are absolutely right. Traffic gridlock is not the only way of the future, though. By building walkable communities, we can reverse the gridlock and provide residents with a different way to travel – using bikes, walking, hopping on the SunRail, taking the bus. Not only do we make these options appealable, we make them safe.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, at a first-of-its-kind symposium, called “Making Dollars and Sense of Walkable Urban Communities,” residents and business leaders from throughout Southwest Florida, will learn how well they are working and how they can be implemented here. Get more information about the symposium here.
